The ancient temple of Lord Sri Rama located at Vonyimitta in the district will be developed as one of the prime Pilgrim Centers, said Tirumala Tirupathi Devastanams EO Mr. D. Sambasiva Rao.
After inspecting the ongoing developmental works at Vontimitta on Saturday , Rao said that the TTD recently took over four temple’s with historical importance at Vontimitta , Chandragiri , Upqmaka and Anantavaram and allotted a budget of 20 Crores towards the development of Vontimitta temple
Currently, development and beautification works worth 4 Crores are underway . TTD is awaiting the permission ASI to construct permanent structure , he informed .
“Plans are afoot to execute other works worth 8 Crores Rupees. We will discuss with the locals on the priority of works. We are contemplating the completion of the pending works by the mid of April and gear up for Sri Rama Navami festival on February 28n
The Kalyanam of Lord Sita Rama Swamy will be performed with religious aplomb in 70 acres TTD land located adjacent to the Vontimitta Temple, he adviced.
Tirupathi JEO Mr. P. Prabhakar , Kadapa District Collector Mr. Venkata Ramana , CE Mr. Chandra Sekhar Reddy and Additional CVSO Mr. Siva Kumar Reddy were present this occasion on Saturday .
