Solutions (Q.1 to Q.5):-
B is the son of C but C is not mother of B means C is the father of B. A is married to C, means A is mother of B. F is the brother of B means F is son of A and C. D is the daughter of A means D is daughter of A and C.
1. A is the mother and hence female. B is son hence male. C is husband hence male. D is the daughter hence female. E is the brother hence male. F is the son hence male.

So, there are four males.

2. Clearly A is the mother of B.

3. A has son B, Son F and Daughter D i.e. A has three children.

4. Clearly, the females are only the mother A and daughter D.

5. E is the brother of C who is the father of D. So, E is uncle of D.


Solutions (Q.6 to Q.10):-
6. P @ Q $ M # T means P is the husband of Q who is mother of M who is the father of T
i.e. P is the father of T’s father
i.e. P is the T’s paternal grandfather

7. R is the sister of H means R is the daughter of the father of H
i.e. R is the daughter of the husband (say D) of the mother (say F)
i.e. R % D @ F $ H

8. F @ D % K # H means F is the husband of D who is the daughter of K who is the father of H.
i.e. F is the husband of D who is the sister of H.
i.e. F is H’s brother-in-law.

9. H is the brother of N means N is the daughter of H’s father and H is a male
i.e. N is the daughter of the husband (say F) of the mother (say D) of H
and H is the father or husband of some other person (say R)
i.e. N % F @ D $ H # R

10. G $ M @ K means G is the mother of M who is the husband of K
i.e. K is G’s daughter-in-law

Solutions (Q.11 to Q.15):-
Q, the Doctor, is the father of T. S, the housewife is the grandfather of T and hence the mother of Q. since there are only two married couples one being that of Q, the grandfather of R i.e. U must be married to S. Thus, R and T will be both children of Q and these must be the students. So, P. who remains, shall be the wife of Q and she alone can be the nurse. Thus, U must be the contractor.

13. The two married couple are Q. P and U.S.

14. P is the nurse.

15. Since Q is the father and U is the grandfather. So, this is a group of male members.

Solutions (Q.11 to Q.15):-
Q is the son of R but R is not the mother. So, R is the father of Q, P is married to R. So, P is the wife of R and the mother of Q. X is the daughter of P and hence of R and so the is the sister of Q. Y is the brother of R and Z is the brother of P.

17. Q is the son of R but R is not mother of Q. So, R is the father of Q.

18. Clearly, Q is the son of P and X is the daughter of P. So, P has two children.

19. X is the sister of Q who is a male. So, Q is brother of X.

20. Clearly, Y is brother of R who is a male. So, Y and R is a pair of brothers.
